Teutonic Engineering at Work: 2007 Audi R8 LHD
A car coming from a renowned brand that has proven time and time again that it produces the finest vehicles, the
2007 Audi R8 LHD was the object of many people’s desires. No doubt many have dreamt about this sports car, but life
is hard and things don’t always end up how we’d want them to.
The owner of this beauty will probably speed along a highway or impress commoners on the streets of London anytime
soon. It is quite amazing what an aggressive-looking high performance black car can do when cruising in the
city.
What makes the 2007 Audi R8 LHD so popular? It could be the manual transmission. In case you didn’t know,
Volkswagen owns both Audi and Lamborghini, meaning that Gallardo and R8 share the same 6 speed manual gearbox and a number of
other components; driving this beauty is like driving half of a Lamborghini. The lower half, it's true, but what
Audi puts under the hood is nevertheless impressive.
The 4.2 litre V8 petrol engine is sufficient to pump out 414 horsepower and 317 lb-ft. Following the Audi
tradition, this power is transmitted to all 4 wheels. The lightweight frame and engine make for an overall weight
of 3,440 lb, and implicitly for high performance levels. The R8 LHD reaches 62 mph in 4.6 seconds and a top speed
of 187 mph. The quarter mile area is reached in just 12 and half seconds.
As previously mentioned, some characteristics are shared with the Gallardo, namely some chassis elements,
door handles and their mechanisms, as well as the floor pan. The newer R8 versions even share the V10 engine. But
even without the improved engine, the 2007 Audi R8 LHD is still very competitive. And in the unlikely situation
that you don’t know what LHD stands for, it means Left Hand Drive.
As far as safety is involved, a lot of acronyms, like ABS, EBD and ASR, are present and these features work
miracles in terms of providing the stability and easy handling any driver would appreciate.
The black leather trim interior practically invites you to take the car for a spin. Winter is coming and the heated
seats will perform nicely, especially accompanied by the navigation system and the parking sensors.
So you see, everything you could possibly wish for in a car is taken to a whole new level by the 2007 Audi R8 LHD.
All that is left for us to do is to wish you a safe and enjoyable ride!
